Archdale Public Library (opens in a new window) is conveniently located adjacent to RCC-Archdale Center (opens in a new window) and maintains an agreement with RCC Library to provide services and resources to RCC-Archdale Center students.

The Library welcomes RCC-Archdale Center students! We offer…

  • Comfortable chairs
  • Four quiet and private study rooms
  • Extended hours—open until 6:00 p.m. on Fridays and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturdays.
  • Book, audiobook and DVD checkout


All you need to take advantage of these services is a library card in good standing. To register for a card, you need a valid NC Driver’s License or ID. If your ID does not provide your current address, you must also provide a document with your current address (bill, lease, or any kind of “official” paperwork).

  • You can use Internet computers by signing the library’s Internet Access and Safety Policy. Your Internet PIN is the last 4 digits of your primary phone #.
  • Internet sessions are one hour but may be extended up to two consecutive hours if no users are waiting.
  • Printouts are 20 cents each (black & white or color).
  • Most computers have Microsoft Office 2013, but some Microsoft Office 2010 machines are available.
  • Your Archdale Public Library card has a PIN (last 4 digits of your primary phone #) that is used to access your account online.
  • You must present your library card to check out materials.
  • 21 day checkout: books, eBooks, and audiobooks
  • 7 day checkout: DVDs and VHS tapes
  • You must be 16 or over to check out audio & video items.
  • Limits: 40 books, 5 DVDs, 5 VHS tapes, 5 audiobooks
  • Renewals can be done in person, by phone or online, a maximum of two times, unless an item is on hold for someone else.
  • ebooks, e-audiobooks and e-magazines are free to download with a library account
  • Overdue fines are 10 cents per day per item up to a maximum of $5 per item, except for DVDs, VHS videos and CD-ROMs, which are $1 per day per item up to a maximum of $5 per item.
  • Overdue items must be returned and fines paid before you will be allowed to check out at any of the libraries.
  • The library may provide overdue notices by phone, email and/or mail, but notices are a courtesy only. You are responsible for overdue material and any fines/fees, whether or not you have received notification.
  • Patron accounts with of $25 or more may be turned over to a collection agency (with a surcharge of $10.00).
