About the Library Catalog

All links on this page open in a new window.

  • The online catalog contains the records of all the items located in the RCC Library. You can access the online catalog here
  • Also included are the holdings of 52 other community college libraries that make up the Community Colleges Libraries in North Carolina consortium (CCLINC).
  • The default search is RCC Library but you can also search "CCLINC libraries."
  • You can search all fields, author, title or subject.
  • You can borrow books from other CCLINC libraries and place holds on RCC books by using the "Place a Hold" option in the catalog. (requires your student ID or library card barcode number).
  • You can Renew books online by logging into "My Account" (requires your library card barcode number found on your student ID).
  • Search the "Reserve Desk" to locate materials by instructor, course number or course name. Reserve materials are located at the library service desk and are usually available for in-library use only. Your student ID is required to use Reserve items.

How to Place a Hold

If you are unable to find a book in the RCC Library, use the drop-down menu in the catalog to select "CCLINC Libraries".

This will show the holdings of the Community College Libraries in NC Consortium (CCLINC), which you can borrow from by "placing a hold".

To borrow a book from CCLINC or if you want an RCC Library book that is checked out, use the following steps in the catalog:

  1. Click on the book title.
  2. Click "Place Hold" (first link in the box on the right of the book title).
  3. In the "Log In" box, enter "Barcode number on Student ID". For help, email library@randolph.edu (opens in a new window).
  4. The book title will display. Leave "Pickup Library" as RANDOLPH.
  5. Click "Place Hold".
  6. A box will appear with a "Success" confirmation.
  7. Click "OK".
  • You will be notified via RCC email as soon as the book is ready for you to pick up.
  • There is no charge to borrow books from other CCLINC libraries.
  • It may take 1-3 weeks to receive the requested book.

Community borrowers are limited to two hold requests through CCLINC at a time.

Can't find the book you need in CCLINC? Use the Interlibrary Loan Request - Book online form (opens in a new window) to request that we find it for you elsewhere.
