Database Searching

Why narrow results?

Narrowing results can be advantageous in large, multidisciplinary databases, such as ProQuest Central.

Most databases allow you to narrow your search after you retrieve results.

Consider narrowing your results by:

  • Scholarly journals (peer-reviewed)
  • Publication date
  • Document type (article)
  • Location
  • Language

Narrow Results AFTER searching ProQuest databases

After you've performed a search in a database, you can narrow the results by applying the filters appearing on the left of the screen, such as source type, publication date, and subject.
